CONCEALED CARRY PERMITS

STEP 01 - CONCEALED CARRY TRAINING PROVIDERS

The list of local concealed carry training providers are being provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only; they do not constitute an endorsement or an approval by the Howell County Sheriff's Office of any of the products, services or opinions of the corporation or organization or individual. The Howell County Sheriff's Office bears no responsibility for the accuracy, legality or content of the training providers. Please refer to RSMo §571.111.1 for standards of firearm instructor requirements.


STEP 02 - APPLICATION FOR CCW PERMIT

The application below was published for those residents of Howell County for first time or renewal of a CCW permit. Furthermore, applicants will need to download the application and submit all supporting documents to include a non-refundable check or money order of $100.00 for all first time applications or a non-refundable check or money order of $50.00 for all renewal applications. Applicants will be required to contact the Sheriff's Office and setup an appointment to process the application packet and provide fingerprints as required.


STEP 03 - CONCEALED CARRY APPLICATION PROCESS

Once all the criteria have been met, applicants will submit an application to the Sheriff’s Office as noted above. If the application is approved, the Sheriff shall issue a concealed carry permit to the applicant within a period not to exceed three working days after his or her approval of the application. The applicant shall sign the concealed carry permit in the presence of the Sheriff or his or her designee. PERMIT RENEWALS

For those citizens needing to renew their concealed carry permit, please schedule an appointment with the Court Resources Division. All renewals will be required to have the following on the day of their appointment:

  • Concealed carry permit; this can be on your state issued driver's license or non-driver identification or the new concealed carry permit that was issued by the Sheriff's Office.


  • Proof of residency; if your address is not correct on your identification, provide a current utility bill, county tax bill, county voter card, pay check stub, bank statement, deed, lease or rental agreement.


  • Personal check, money order, cashier's check or cash in the amount of a non-refundable $50.00. Checks should be made payable to the Howell County Sheriff's Office.

After requirements have been met, the applicant will complete LESP 133 Form and the approving authority will conduct a background check with the DAS Division and upon a cleared background check, the approving authority will sign and annotate in the remarks: Renewal – Background Check Cleared. The permit will then be issued to the approved applicant.
