S5 - PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Staff 5 Office is responsible under direction of the commander or executive officer, in communicating information between the Sheriff's Office and the public, to include the media.  This office monitors the opinions and needs of the public and reports these concerns to the command group. This office and the Public Information Officer (PIO) serves as media liaisons and assists in answering questions, issues press releases, and arranges interviews with the command group. The Staff 5 Office is a commissioned supervisor filled position or an additional duty assigned to qualified personnel within the Sheriff's Office.
