COINS OF RECOGNITION

COIN CRITERIA

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office “Recognition Coins” also known as “Challenge Coins” throughout the military ranks are normally presented by the Commanding Officer in recognition of a special achievement by a service member. These coins have historical roots dating back approximately fifty to nearly one-hundred years within American history. These coins have a significant and deep seeded role within many organizations in the United States and the Howell County Sheriff’s Office is proud to continue this tradition.
